In the service of keeping the paperwork down, Modern Device has a minimum order of $10 on small parts. We will be glad to ship a few headers to our previous customers, but reserve the right to return orders to new customers that total less than $10.

Female Headers - 40FH

Female headers (sockets). Spaced on .100" centers. Cut them on a pin, not between pins, so you lose a pin with each cut. Hence a 40 pin strip yields 10, 3-pin connectors. Great for interfacing sensors to a Bare Bones Board. Gold plated.

Snap-off right angle headers that we use on the programming header of the BBB. Cut them between pins with no losses. Gold plated.

They are grooved but the thicker size doesn't snap too well. We cut them with a utility knife or with flush cutters.

Double-Male Headers - 40MMSH

We have located a new 40 pin double-male header that is much more reasonably priced than our old offering from Digikey. They work well in the BBB with a standard header length below the plastic on the bottom of the board and .310" sticking up on top of the pcb. A typical header pin rises .340" above the pcb so they are just a half millimeter or so short of being perfectly level with the other headers, when mounted on the bottom (and soldered on the top). We'll put up a picture soon.

We have consequently discontinued the old high-priced double headers, and are glad to see them go.

These are good for providing stacking shield boards on the BBB, and connecting things like servos, which have female headers, on breadboards. Also good for connecting two servo cables, or a servo with an extender cable.

Short side is .230" (5.8 mm) from the plastic.
Long side is .370" (9.4 mm) from the plastic on the other side.
Total pin length is .710" (17.5 mm)
